Pink October: A Reminder That Care Is Strength

Pink October

Every October, the world turns pink, a colour that symbolises not just awareness, but courage, care, and community. For Women on Boards Adria, this month serves as a reminder that leadership also means advocating for wellbeing, our own and that of others.

We are proud to highlight the inspiring initiative of our partner Iute Macedonia, led by Biljana Mishikj, CEO of Iute Macedonia and member of Women on Boards Adria. Their campaign for Pink October goes beyond awareness; it speaks to the shared responsibility of organisations to support the health and empowerment of women in the workplace.

“We recognise that women’s health is the foundation of stability, energy, and long-term personal and professional growth. Self-care is not a weakness — it’s a responsibility. When that care is supported and encouraged by the organisation, it creates an environment where women can lead with their full potential”, said Biljana Mishikj.

At Women on Boards Adria, we are proud to see our members and partners champion initiatives that combine empathy with impact, where leadership is defined not only by performance but by purpose.

“It’s deeply encouraging to see companies like Iute take a proactive approach to women’s wellbeing. Supporting such messages through our network reminds us that every act of awareness is also an act of leadership”, said Nevena Kostić, Head of Programme at Women on Boards Adria.
