We’ve successfully concluded our first in-person WOBA Board Readiness two-day training, attended by over 20 aspiring female leaders, eager to unlock new skills, knowledge and advance in their organisations and in professional sense to board positions.
WOBA Head of Programme, Nevena Dičić Kostić, emphasized the importance of initiatives like this one: “Research consistently shows that diverse leadership drives better business performance, stronger governance, and more innovative decision-making. However, despite progress, women remain underrepresented often lacking the network, visibility, or targeted support to secure these roles. Our programme closes this gap by providing not just education, but real-world insights from board members and senior executives, helping women develop a clear strategy for advancing in their careers. Our goal is to provide women with concrete tools and support so they can confidently step into the leadership structures of their companies.”
Sessions covered topics like authentic and strategic leadership, negotiations, and personal branding, making sure to equip the participants with skills like:
- Setting personal and professional goals
- Driving change and managing teams
- Navigating leadership vs. management challenges
- Positioning oneself as an ideal board candidate
